Event-Driven Architecture Patterns

Event-driven architecture isn't just a buzzword - it fundamentally changes how you design systems. We refactored our monolith into event-driven microservices using Kafka. System resilience improved dramatically. This is the best explanation of the pattern I've found.

Martin Fowler's articles are always gold. His explanation of event sourcing vs event-driven is particularly good.

The async nature makes debugging harder but the decoupling benefits are huge. Would never go back to direct calls.

Event-driven architecture + Kafka is powerful but you need strong operational maturity. Schema registry is a must.
